Vertical privilege escalation via OR-merged authorization rules
Published Aug 30, 2026 · Updated Aug 30, 2026
Improper authorization in LogNet grpc-spring-boot-starter 5.0 through 5.2.0 allows remote authenticated users to invoke restricted methods. GrpcServiceAuthorizationConfigurer.processSecuredAnnotation appends class- and method-level @Secured roles, and AffirmativeBased grants access when either role matches. Exploitation requires a broader class role and a stricter method role on the same service method; the caller gains that method's deployment-defined read or write capability.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
