CVE-2026-82593Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unbounded URL formatting

Published Aug 30, 2026 · Updated Aug 30, 2026

Stack-based buffer overflow in D-Link DIR-825M 1.1.8 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted FOTA URL. The sub_41802C handler passes the HTTP POST fota_url value to sprintf, which writes it into a fixed 512-byte stack buffer without a length check. A valid web session is required; overwriting stack control data can execute code as root or crash the web server.
