Sensitive-data interception via cleartext HTTP and RTSP
Published Sep 24, 2026 · Updated Sep 24, 2026
Cleartext transmission in Botslab G980H Dash Cam firmware allows man-in-the-middle attackers to intercept sensitive data over Wi-Fi. The firmware sends recordings, live video, location data, images, and diagnostic logs between the camera and mobile app over unencrypted HTTP and RTSP. The attacker must join or monitor the device's Wi-Fi network; interception exposes confidentiality but does not alter data or interrupt the camera.
