CVE-2026-82584Network attack vector

Prompt forgery via unsanitized package metadata

Published Sep 7, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026

Terminal escape injection in Igniter 0.8.1 through 0.8.3 allows remote attackers to forge install prompts via crafted package metadata. Igniter.Project.Deps prints publisher-controlled descriptions, owner names, dependencies, and versions after stripping only newlines, leaving ANSI controls active. Exploitation requires a developer to run mix igniter.install for an untrusted or misspelled package in an ANSI-aware terminal, enabling approval of a malicious dependency.
