Agent takeover via spoofed loopback Host header
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026
Authentication bypass in DeepSeek Harness before 0.1.2-alpha.1 allows attackers to control the agent through its local HTTP API. The isTrustedApiRequest gate accepts a client-supplied loopback Host header as proof of local origin without checking the TCP peer address. A sandboxed tool process can disable confinement and approval on defaults; an externally forwarded port lets remote attackers execute commands and read stored transcripts.
