Authenticated SMF crash via missing vcnTunnelInfo dereference
Published May 10, 2026 · Updated May 10, 2026
NULL pointer dereference in Open5GS SMF 2.7.0 through 2.7.7 allows remote authenticated users to crash the SMF service. smf_nsmf_handle_create_data_in_hsmf tries to log fields through a null vcnTunnelInfo pointer while handling a malformed PDU-session request. Access to the SMF service-based interface and valid preceding request fields is required; the resulting process exit interrupts session management.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
