Second-factor bypass via replayed TOTP codes

Published Aug 29, 2026 · Updated Aug 29, 2026

Authentication bypass in Rodauth before 2.47.0 allows remote attackers to replay a captured TOTP code and bypass the second factor. The otp feature checks codes across the configured otp_drift interval without recording the timestamp of the last accepted code, so a used value can pass again. Exposure requires the otp feature with nonzero drift and possession of a valid used code; the default 30-second drift creates a replay interval after initial acceptance.
