Unauthenticated account control via missing request guards
Published Aug 29, 2026 · Updated Aug 29, 2026
Authentication bypass in Rust IoT Platform through commit 5df942ab allows remote attackers to manage user accounts through its REST API. The user_router.rs handlers invoke account create, update, list, retrieval, and deletion operations without accepting an AuthToken request guard. No credentials or user interaction are required, exposing account records to reading, modification, creation, and deletion wherever the API is network-reachable.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
