Authenticated command execution via unquoted scan ports
Published Sep 21, 2026 · Updated Sep 21, 2026
OS command injection in ntopng before 6.7.260717 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through scan_ports. The vulnerability-scan REST handlers accept shell metacharacters in scan_ports, which vs_utils.lua concatenates into an nmap command executed by ntopng. Exploitation requires nmap and either a non-admin account or a logged-in victim who follows a crafted GET request, and commands run as the ntopng process account.
