Unauthenticated open redirect via backslash normalization mismatch
Published Oct 14, 2026 · Updated Oct 14, 2026
Open redirect in Gogs before 0.15.0+dev allows remote attackers to send victims to external sites via crafted /redirect links. IsSameSite in internal/urlx/urlx.go validates a normalized target, but getRedirect and other callers place the original value in the Location response, which browsers interpret as a scheme-relative external URL. No account is required for /redirect; victims must follow a crafted link, enabling phishing through an apparently trusted Gogs domain rather than direct server compromise.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
