Unauthenticated code execution via CAS message deserialization
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Insecure deserialization in IBM Guardium Data Protection 12.2's CAS listener allows remote attackers to execute code through TCP port 16017. The listener deserializes crafted messages and permits attacker-controlled reflective method dispatch inside the appliance. Exploitation requires unauthenticated network reachability to the cleartext CAS service and grants code execution with appliance-process privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
