CVE-2026-82330Public exploit

Crash or heap disclosure via unchecked VQ bounds

Published Aug 28, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in GIMP's file-pvr VQ decoder allows attackers to crash the application or disclose limited heap data via a crafted PVR file. The compressed VQ decoder reads image data without confirming that each access remains within the allocated heap buffer. A user must open the malicious file; the bounded consequences are process termination and limited exposure of heap contents, with no reported data modification.
