Session persistence via mismatched user identifier types
Published Sep 16, 2026 · Updated Sep 16, 2026
Session invalidation failure in Apache Airflow FAB provider 2.4.2 through 3.8.1 allows attackers to retain access via a copied session cookie. The reset_user_sessions helper compares Flask-Login’s string _user_id from each database-backed session with an integer user.id, so no row matches for deletion. Exploitation requires a previously copied session cookie, the database session backend, and a later password reset; the retained session preserves the victim’s authorized access.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
