CVE-2026-8230Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated command execution via ipaddr shell injection

Published May 10, 2026 · Updated May 10, 2026

OS command injection in Wavlink WL-NU516U1 Firmware 240425 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands through login.cgi. The sys_login1 handler passes the attacker-controlled ipaddr parameter from a POST request directly to the device shell without neutralizing command syntax. The published proof of concept reaches the management endpoint without authentication and starts a Telnet shell, granting command execution on the appliance.
