Authenticated command execution via WifiBasic parameter injection
Published May 10, 2026 · Updated May 10, 2026
OS command injection in Wavlink WL-NU516U1 Firmware 240425 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands over HTTP. The WifiBasic handler in /cgi-bin/wireless.cgi passes attacker-controlled AuthMethod or EncrypType values into command execution without neutralizing shell syntax. A valid management session is required, and successful exploitation can start a shell or run other commands with the CGI process's privileges.
