Locked-asset disclosure via incomplete single-asset update
Published Aug 28, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026
Broken access control in Immich 3.1.0 and earlier allows attackers to read locked assets through existing albums or shared links. The single-asset AssetService.update path changes visibility to locked without calling albumRepository.removeAssetsFromAll, while album and shared-link access checks omit a locked-visibility filter. Reachability requires an existing shared album membership or shared link; successful requests return asset metadata, thumbnails, and original content without the locked-gallery PIN.
