Node process crash via oversized form payloads
Published Aug 28, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026
Uncontrolled resource consumption in SvelteKit before 2.69.1 allows remote attackers to crash Node processes via oversized remote form payloads. The remote form-function request path processes payload data without enforcing an adequate size limit before Node allocates resources for it. Only deployments exposing remote form functions are reachable; unauthenticated repeated requests can keep the application unavailable by repeatedly terminating its Node process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
