Authenticated table authorization bypass via unbound query resource
Published Aug 28, 2026 · Updated Aug 28, 2026
Missing authorization in Budibase Server before 3.41.3 allows remote authenticated users to manipulate restricted table rows. The POST /api/datasources/query route omits resource binding, so its generic TABLE READ check never compares the BASIC caller's role with the target table and then executes READ, CREATE, UPDATE, or DELETE operations. Any BASIC app account can therefore read or alter POWER- or ADMIN-restricted data when the app uses an external datasource with per-table role restrictions.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
