PCF crash via malformed BSF Location header
Published May 10, 2026 · Updated May 10, 2026
Denial of service in Open5GS 2.7.0 through 2.7.7 allows remote attackers controlling a BSF to crash PCF via a malformed Location header. In pcf_nbsf_management_handle_register, malformed BSF response paths reach cleanup with status set to zero, and ogs_assert(status) aborts the process. Exploitation requires control of a BSF response used during SM policy creation and interrupts PCF until its service or container restarts.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
