Unauthenticated payment-status manipulation via missing token validation
Published Oct 7, 2026 · Updated Oct 7, 2026
Improper notification validation in Nexi XPay Build 7.2.2 through 7.6.2 allows remote attackers to change WooCommerce order payment status. The payment notification handler accepts a supplied security token when the targeted order has no stored token, rather than rejecting a notification it cannot authenticate. A reachable merchant notification route and an order without a stored token permit a false paid status; crafted notifications can also mark genuinely paid orders as failed.
