Unauthenticated file read via unrestricted RMI path
Published May 10, 2026 · Updated May 10, 2026
Path traversal in the RMI interface of Industrial Application Software Canias ERP 8.03 allows remote attackers to read server files. The unauthenticated iasRequestFileEvent handler accepts an absolute m_strSourceFileName value and returns the selected file's raw bytes without canonicalization or an allowed-directory check. Reachability requires network access to the Java RMI service, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the Canias ERP service account.
