Server crash via query-planner integer overflow
Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026
Integer overflow in MongoDB Server allows remote authenticated users with database read/write privileges to crash the server. The query planner overflows an integer while processing a crafted query, bypasses an internal resource limit, and allocates memory without bound. Ordinary database-level read/write access is sufficient; exhaustion terminates the node and interrupts every database it serves.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=7.0.0 <7.0.41
- Affected versionversion=8.0.0 <8.0.30
- Affected versionversion=8.3.0 <8.3.9
