CVE-2026-82075Network attack vector

Unauthenticated service interruption via unthrottled streaming hello

Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026

Uncontrolled resource consumption in affected MongoDB Server releases allows remote attackers to interrupt the mongos service. The sharded-cluster router accepts pre-authentication streamable hello connection-monitoring parameters without enforcing a minimum timeout or rate limit, allowing repeated requests to consume CPU. Network access to a mongos port is sufficient; no authentication or user interaction is required, and the reported impact is limited to availability.
