Reachable assertion in MongoDB Server allows remote authenticated users with write access to cause persistent crashes via retryable writes. Retryable-write command processing accepts crafted state that reaches a fatal assertion and durably records the crash-triggering condition. Write privileges are required; affected nodes crash again after restart, and the state can spread through a sharded cluster until manual recovery.
