CVE-2026-82062Network attack vector

Arbitrary internal table writes via applyOps bypass

Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 8, 2026

Incorrect authorization in MongoDB Server 8.3.0 through 8.3.8 allows remote authenticated users to write arbitrary internal storage tables. The applyOps path accepts a client-supplied internal replication mode that bypasses the disabled container-operation gate, then authorizes only the operation namespace rather than the storage target. Elevated internal privileges are required, and successful exploitation can alter unrelated metadata or other collections' data.
