Reachable assertion in MongoDB Server 7.0 before 7.0.41, 8.0 before 8.0.30, and 8.3 before 8.3.9 allows remote authenticated users to crash mongod. $regexFindAll can begin a regex match at a byte offset inside a multi-code-unit UTF-8 character and reach an assertion during query execution. The trigger requires authenticated permission to run aggregation stages; the bounded consequence is loss of the mongod process.
