Authenticated code execution via unchecked stack copy
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Stack-based buffer overflow in PLANET IGS-5225-8P2T4S firmware allows remote authenticated users to crash the switch or execute code. The web server copies attacker-controlled data into a stack buffer without sufficient bounds checking, overwriting adjacent stack memory. The flaw affects V1 firmware before 1.2412b260707 and V2 firmware before 2.2412b260519; exploitation requires web access credentials.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
