Arbitrary file write via archive path traversal
Published Sep 4, 2026 · Updated Sep 4, 2026
Path traversal in SonicWall Network Security Manager 4.3.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to write files outside its archive directory. The On-Prem archive processor accepts traversal sequences in entry paths and extracts those entries without confining the resolved path to its destination. A privileged user must reach the file-upload workflow and submit a crafted archive; the resulting arbitrary file write can alter host files.
