Authenticated command execution via unsanitized WAN parameters
Published May 9, 2026 · Updated May 9, 2026
OS command injection in Wavlink WL-NU516U1 M16U1_V240425 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through adm.cgi. The wan handler passes ppp_username, ppp_passwd, rwan_ip, rwan_mask, and rwan_gateway values to the operating system without neutralizing command syntax. A valid session cookie is required; injected commands run on the appliance and can read or modify its data or interrupt service.
