Forced FTP mounts via missing netmount CSRF check

Published Aug 31, 2026 · Updated Sep 1, 2026

CSRF in the PHP connector in Studio 42 Ltd. elFinder before 2.1.70 allows remote attackers to force FTP mounts via cross-site requests. elFinderConnector::$csrfProtectedCmds omits netmount, so validateCsrfToken() is skipped while request parameters flow into the FTP driver. Exploitation requires a victim browser to reach the connector; the request persists an attacker-chosen mount in that session and makes the server send supplied credentials to an attacker-chosen FTP endpoint.
