Authenticated command execution via Wi-Fi parameter injection
Published May 9, 2026 · Updated May 9, 2026
OS command injection in Wavlink WL-NU516U1 firmware M16U1_V240425 allows remote authenticated users to execute operating-system commands. The change_wifi_password handler in /cgi-bin/adm.cgi incorporates wl_channel, wl_Pass, or EncrypType input into an OS command without neutralizing shell metacharacters. Access to the administrative web interface is required, and successful exploitation runs commands with the CGI process's privileges.
