JSON disclosure and file writes via path traversal

Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026

Path traversal in MAA-AI MaaMCP 1.1.1.dev6+g2e4a41287 allows context-dependent attackers to read JSON files and write files outside pipelines. save_pipeline and load_pipeline pass caller-controlled output_path and pipeline_path values to Path and open without resolving them beneath the pipelines directory. Exploitation requires an enabled MCP client or a prompt-injected agent to invoke the tools, and access is limited to files readable or writable by the server process.
