Weak password hashing in PIMBoards in AVEVA Pipeline Integrity Monitor 2025 SP1 P1 and earlier allows local users to recover app passwords. PIMBoards project files store app-native user password hashes using MD5, enabling offline computational brute-force recovery by anyone with file read access. Recovered credentials can authenticate as a PIMBoards user and, if an administrator password is recovered, grant administrator access.
