Stored XSS via incomplete audit-log attribute escaping
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Stored XSS in Vigilant 2.10.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser through a crafted User-Agent. Vigilant stores the header on a failed login, then its Security Audit UI encodes angle brackets but not quotes before placing the value in an HTML attribute. No account is needed to plant the payload, but an administrator must view or refresh the affected audit entry for the script to run with that browser session's privileges.
