Unauthenticated stored XSS via forged payment callback
Published Oct 1, 2026 · Updated Oct 1, 2026
Stored XSS in Paytm Payment Gateway before 2.8.9 allows remote attackers to run scripts in an administrator's browser via payment callbacks. The callback handler stores payment data that the transaction admin page renders without escaping, while a missing merchant key permits forged integrity checks. Exploitation requires the gateway to be enabled without credentials and an administrator to open the affected page; the script then runs in that browser session.
