File disclosure via unencrypted USB workspace
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Missing encryption in jahlives OpenSSL Encrypt 1.4.8 and earlier allows physically proximate attackers to read USB-workspace files. The portable-USB creator derives an encryption key and writes an encrypted marker but leaves the workspace directory as ordinary cleartext without applying the key. Physical access to removable media holding a populated workspace exposes those files, with no reported ability to alter them or interrupt the application.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
