Application crash via unbounded SVG tree recursion
Published Oct 19, 2026 · Updated Oct 19, 2026
Uncontrolled recursion in Qt Framework's QtSvg module allows attackers to crash applications via deeply nested SVG files. The SVG parser and renderer traverse document trees without depth limits during paint-server resolution, cycle detection, rendering, and destruction, exhausting the call stack. Exposure requires an application to process attacker-controlled SVG content and affects Qt Framework 4.1.0 through 6.8.8 and 6.9.0 through 6.11.1.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
