Application crash via signed-content validation overflow

Published Aug 11, 2026 · Updated Aug 11, 2026

Heap buffer overflow in Axis Signed Video Framework before 2.3.5 allows remote attackers to crash validation applications via signed video. Axis identifies the locus only as the signed-content validation tools and states that it will not publish further details about the overflowing operation. A remote attacker must persuade a user to validate crafted signed content; the reported consequence is an application crash, while device-side AXIS OS signing remains unaffected.
