Authenticated license data disclosure via brute-forced SIDs
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
Authorization bypass in CodeMeter Runtime before 8.41a and 9.10 allows remote authenticated users to read other sessions' license data. The server issues a handle for each connection, then accepts its cryptographically weak SID as the handle's sole authenticator, enabling SID brute force and recovery of another handle number. Server mode and an existing low-privilege session are required; exploitation discloses license information without reported data modification or service interruption.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
