Unauthenticated ticket manipulation via encoded sender spoofing
Published May 7, 2026 · Updated May 7, 2026
Email sender spoofing in CERT Coordination Center VINCE 3.0.38 and earlier allows remote attackers to create or update tickets. VINCE's incoming-email vetting compares differently encoded forms of the From header, then treats the unverified address as authoritative. The flaw is reachable through incoming email without a VINCE account and permits automated ticket actions under another sender's identity.
