CVE-2026-81349Network attack vector

Authenticated privilege escalation via Ambari command injection

Published Sep 8, 2026 · Updated Sep 9, 2026

OS command injection in Microsoft Azure HDInsight before 2606012120 allows remote authenticated users to elevate privileges through Ambari. Microsoft has not disclosed the affected Ambari endpoint or which untrusted field reaches the operating-system command without adequate neutralization. Successful exploitation requires high-privileged access to the network-reachable Ambari interface and executes operating-system commands with elevated cluster privileges.
