Plaintext disclosure via non-sensitive action argument
Published Aug 30, 2026 · Updated Aug 30, 2026
Information exposure in AshCloak 0.1.0 through 0.3.1 allows attackers to recover cloaked plaintext through errors and logs. The SetupEncryption transformer copies the source attribute's sensitive flag to the plaintext action argument, so Ash leaves it unredacted when that flag is false. Anyone who can trigger a validation error or access logs, telemetry, crash reports, or error trackers can read the cloaked field.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
