Account takeover via poisoned password-reset links
Published Sep 18, 2026 · Updated Sep 18, 2026
Host header injection in Syslifters GmbH SysReptor before 2026.58 allows remote attackers to take over accounts through password-reset links. The forgot-password flow uses an attacker-controlled Host header to form the emailed reset URL when ALLOWED_HOSTS contains a wildcard. Email reset, an email gateway, and a victim email address must be configured, and the victim must follow the hostile link, exposing the token needed to replace that account's password.
