Unauthenticated file disclosure via unchecked REST paths
Published May 7, 2026 · Updated May 7, 2026
Path traversal in David Gyori Short Video Maker 1.3.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to read server files through REST requests. The /api/tmp/:tmpFile and /api/music/:fileName routes join untrusted path parameters to media directories and pass unchecked paths to fs.createReadStream. No authentication is required; the REST API must be reachable, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the server process.
