Host command execution via unguarded PTY spawn
Published Aug 27, 2026 · Updated Aug 27, 2026
OS command injection in Maquina Rails MCP Server 1.4.0 through 1.6.0 allows local users to execute host commands through execute_ruby. The tool permits require "pty" while its denylist and Kernel method replacements leave PTY.spawn and PTY.getpty unguarded. A local operator or a coding agent acting for that operator must submit the Ruby call; commands run with the server account's privileges.
