CVE-2026-81051

Protection bypass via mutable security version number

Published Sep 10, 2026 · Updated Sep 10, 2026

Security-version rollback weakness in Dell ThinOS 10 before 2605_10.2616 allows physically proximate attackers with low privileges to bypass protections. The anti-rollback control stores a mutable security version number, allowing its value to be lowered so an older system image passes version enforcement. Physical device access and low privileges are required; rollback exposes protections present only in newer firmware, and Dell has disclosed no broader consequence.
