Email interception via disabled SMTP certificate verification
Published Aug 26, 2026 · Updated Aug 26, 2026
Improper certificate validation in Netmaker 1.6.0 and earlier allows man-in-the-middle attackers to intercept outbound SMTP email. The Pro email sender in pro/email/smtp.go unconditionally sets InsecureSkipVerify to true, causing the SMTP client to accept every presented certificate. Exploitation requires an on-path position between the Netmaker server and its mail relay and exposes reset tokens and invitation links in transit.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
