Unauthenticated account takeover via unvalidated authentication redirects
Published Aug 26, 2026 · Updated Aug 26, 2026
Open redirect in OpenMetadata before 2.0.0 allows remote attackers to steal an authenticating user's JWT through a crafted login URL. SamlLoginServlet and AuthenticationCodeFlowHandler store caller-controlled callback or redirectUri values without validation, and completion handlers append the issued token before redirecting. Exploitation requires a user to follow the crafted URL and complete SAML, OIDC, or OAuth2 authentication, after which the token grants API access as that account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
