Incorrect waitid processing via ignored cancellation
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Task-context confusion in Linux 6.7 allows local users to trigger incorrect io_uring waitid processing during task-work cancellation. io_waitid_cb ignores tw.cancel and calls __do_wait from a fallback kworker, so child lookup and retry waiting use the worker's current context rather than the submitter's. Reachability requires an outstanding IORING_OP_WAITID request to enter fallback cancellation; processing then occurs against the wrong task context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
