Out-of-bounds write via zero-copy frame overlap
Published Sep 11, 2026 · Updated Sep 11, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in affected Linux kernels allows attackers to crash the system via an AF_XDP zero-copy packet redirected through cpumap. xdp_convert_zc_to_xdp_frame() advertises PAGE_SIZE and zero headroom, letting packet data overlap skb_shared_info or extend past its page. Reachability requires the AF_XDP zero-copy and cpumap redirect path; the demonstrated write caused a panic with KASAN panic_on_warn enabled.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
